Tarot - The Kings

The King of any suit typically indicates an actual man.  On occasion, depending on the placement in a reading, a King may indicate a forcefulness of energy, but the King’s interpretation as a man is more usual.  The King can indicate a woman with an abundance of masculine energy as well.

The Queen of any suit typically refers to an actual adult woman.  She may also indicate a man who has a great deal of feminine energy.

Tarot - The Knights

The Knights describe the type of energy and vitality of a situation.  In certain circumstances they may describe teenagers of either gender, but they more typically describe moods and mindsets.

The Page of any suit is an invitation.  Let’s say it’s the germ of an idea, an inkling, an opportunity presented.  Depending on the suit, it could be a phone call for a date, a course listing in a brochure, the mention by a colleague of a job opening or your own recognition of a

Tarot - The Tens

Tens are transition… the graduation of each suit to its next level of challenge, growth, complexity.  With the Tens, you take what you have learned and ‘kick it up a notch.’

Tarot - The Nines

Nines signal completion, fulfillment.  Whatever the goal of the suit, whether it’s creative fulfillment with Wands, personal happiness with Cups, material achievement with Pentacles or conflict resolution with the Swords, Nines say “You Made It.”

With the Eights, it all comes back to you, baby.  You have been so busy pursuing your path that it is only now, with the Eights, that you finally discover that the key lies within you.

Sevens call for reevaluation.  They ask you to perceive where you are and ask baldly, ‘Is this where I want to be?’

The Sixes are a welcome relief after the upheaval of the Fives.  Sixes are soothing and gentle respite from the travails of life.

Fives symbolize a shift in the balance of life.  In each of the suits, Fives involve transition and changing circumstances.  They are characterized by the oftentimes uncomfortable jolt of adjustment and the accompanying imbalance that change heralds.
